As working parents, the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne as always been there to support my families childcare needs. They are open on days when school is closed, as well as met our needs during the limited in person school during the pandemic. They not only provide care but they also make it fun and educational for the kids. Our girls enjoy going there during the school year and for summer camp.

My name is Laura and I am a foster parent. I've had children ranging in age from 1 to 17. My first phone call is always to the Boys and Girls Club in Hawthorne and I have my fingers crossed that they have an opening for whatever age child is joining my family. I've had some pretty difficult children over the years and the staff at the Boys and Girls club are the most caring people and yet can handle the behaviors. They always go above and beyond and the children are so lucky to have them. I could not do what I do without them. My son, adopted out of foster care, is hoping to become a counselor there. I can't think of anything better than that.

Currently, both of my school aged children attend Boys and Girls Club for the Remote Learning Program. They have been attending this program for the majority of the school year. I have been very pleased with how the Club has taken on the role of providing a learning environment at the same time ensuring both my children attend all zoom calls and complete school assignments. The Directors and Staff are very helpful and attentive to my children's needs. I appreciate the level of communication and the assurance that my children are having a positive experience each day!

I can not speak highly enough about the Boys and Girls Club. Between my two older kids we have been with the Club for almost 5 years now. The teachers and aides have all been phenomenal. The classrooms are clean (especially with Covid-19 protocols) and the curriculum really helps prep the kids for kindergarten. My husband and I have always felt that our kids were safe and well taken care of.
